2nd week in the Mission Field ,PS. happy HOLI!!

Vandhanalu,

This week was sooo good!! Sometimes it is so hard to believe the things that happen. We have quite a few progressing investigators now, it seems unbelievable because of our boundaries we thought we won't be able to meet enough people but the Lord works in His own ways. We received a lot of referrals from the members and as we went around the area we met a lot of former investigators who are still very interested!
Chandra accepted the invitation to be baptized along with 3 other investigators (Pandu,His wife Suvarna and Jancy ) ! We are trying to teach her 11-year-old daughter as well. It's been such a good experience to meet with her family.
Yesterday we had an appointment with a former investigator Sanjana (this was finally someone who speaks english so i was VERY excited to meet with her) but as soon as she saw us she went out. We were really sad and disappointed. Her grandmother, because we were Christians. let us in though. She thought we'll just say a small prayer and leave. We went in and Sanjana's brother Vineet was there. As soon as he saw us he was like "LDS?!?!"  and i thought to myself "well, now he's gnna chase us away" but that is not at all what happened! He seemed very happy that we were there. They had met the missionaries long ago and he said he recognized us as members of the same church because of our name tags. Anyway, so we talked to him and it was surprising how quick he opened up to us! he told us that he is going through a lot! he met with an accident a few days ago and the man he hit was badly injured and in the hospital. They filed a report against him and it is all a bug mess! Plus he was applying for a US visa and he was really worried. He also told us that this dad passed away in 2015 because of cancer so he was the only male in the family and all that. We felt really sorry for me and i just sat there blank, had no idea what to say. But sister Swarna is so amazing! she tried her best to comfort him. We then shared Mosiah 23:21-22,28-29 with him that talks about how God sometimes gives us trials to test our patience and faith and if we push our fears and pray to Him, He will take care of us. We could see clearly see that he WAS comforted through those words. He told us how his family and everyone had been telling him the same thing and that he needed to build on his relationship with God. We were really happy to see how the spirit was already helping him understand what we wanted to say. We then shared our testimonies of how God had tested our patience and faith too and how those experiences brought us and our families closer to heavenly father.
I am so grateful to be able to meet Vineet. He told us that he was reading his scriptures and trying to divert his mind from everything that was hoping on and was thinking about our church when we went in which is why he got really excited to see us. This was yet another example of how the lord prepares the hearts of the people that they may listen to His words and come unto him through our help. He also told us that he was grateful to have us visit him and that just that visit had been a blessing for him.
We did not fix another appointment with him, which idk why we didn't, but we did give him our number. As we were leaving the house he came outside and asked us himself to come again! and i got so happy that, I am pretty sure i was really loud, i said with the biggest smile on my face,"YES! SO YOU CAN CALL US WHENEVER YOU ARE FREE OR WE CAN CALL YOU! EITHER WAY, WE'LL SURELY VISIT AGAIN!!" after that I thought i might have scared him or creeped him out but he was really happy and i could actually see it in his eyes how much he was wanting us to visit him again.
We both were so happy when we left that house. We shared with each other how blessed we are to this work. To bring smiles on people's faces and to listen to their concerns and remind them that God is always there when they feel like there's no help.
I already feel like i have been here for so long!! But it is a good long :))
This week in my personal study i read this quote by President Thomas S. Monson which has helped me work on the love i have for my companion and for the people i serve and i really wanna share it with you all-
"Love offers a kind word, a patient response, a selfless act, an understanding ear, a forgiving heart. Love is a smile, a wave, a kind comment, and a compliment. Love is sacrifice, service and selflessness."
So whenever you think you ran put of ways to show love to the people around you, i am pretty sure this quote will help!!

ps- Funny story
So last morning as we were getting ready for the day my companion came to me and asked me to closely look at the restroom door. She said that it has been moving by its own and she thinks it is a ghost. I laughed so hard and told her that it was just the wind from the window inside that was making it move. She did not believe me and trust me it took almost 20 minutes to tell her the science behind the door moving because of the wind. I am pretty sure she still doesn't believe it XD
Also, my cooking skills are not helping at all. My companion has to eat things with no salt or too much salt whenever i cook. *please don't judge my cooking. im just having bad cooking days* xD

i love you all so much!
i am safe and i am enjoying every single bit of it here.
